Fall 2012 brings a fresh start for many teams and organizations in the San Antonio area. Texas Select Youth Football League, a Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) Club brings true select youth football to San Antonio, a No Weight Limit, select youth football league. All teams compete for a chance to advance to the 2012 AAU Tackle Football League Based National Championships held at the Citrus Bowl in Florida. Having completed a successfull Spring Season, TSYFL is ready to begin a new milestone for the 2012 Fall football season in the San Antonio area.
What does this mean? That means that each individual team can hold tryouts, recruit, and select players for their individual team or organization. Anyone can have a individual team in a age group. Unlike other leagues in San Antonio, you DO NOT need to have a team in each age group.
The 2012 Fall season will begin play in September for 8U, 10U, 12U and 14U(Players can play Middle School football and TSYFL). Determination of Age is August 1, 2012. All players will be required to have a State of Texas I.D. card that is issued by the Department of Public Safety. The league will also accept Department of Defense Military I.D. cards, and U.S. issued Passports. TSYFL will not accept out of State I.D. cards. NO Birth Certificates are accepted and will not be accepted as a substitute for the State issued I.D. card.
Cost per team is $600, NO player fee, and NO certification fees for coaches or players. Coaches and Players must obtain AAU Membership (click on AAU Membership on the leftside navigation bar). Each team must have a minimum of 17 players. Fees cover Game Site, Refs, Chain Crew, and Game/Practice Site General Liablity insurance. Each player and coach will receive the TSYFL patch (must be worn on jersey and coaches shirt). All Coaches and Non-Athletes participating in Texas Select Youth Football League must be certifed with Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA). No fee for this certification.
Each player and non-athlete(coach) are insured through their AAU membership. AAU membership cost $14 for player, and $16 for non-athletes(coaches).

Season will consist of 8 regular season games, and the TSYFL "Super7" playoffs. Division Winners Advance toState/National playoffs. Team fee per age group is $600.00 (Team fee Covers Game Field, Refs, Chain Crew, Game/Practice Field General Liability). NO CERTIFICATION FEE, NO PLAYER FEE. $100 to reserve spot. Texas Select Youth Football League (TSYFL) is Club Member of the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU). The benefits of membership with AAU are numerous. All Athlete and Non-Athlete memberships are vaild from September 1 - August 30th. Most important is that your membership includes insurance for injury while participating in AAU sanctioned practices and games/events.
